Network & Win

Getting Started
Once your store provides the signed Participation Agreement and full payment, your accounts for Web Network Dashboard, ICBB and Events That Matter are established. You can then choose which applications to turn on and off, and when to turn them on and off. Technical support is available through participating stores via the online Web Network Support Forum.

Since participation is critical to the success of all stores, individually and as a network, ICBA strongly encourages you to be fully operational with SellMyTextbooks and EventsThatMatter within the first four months.

How to Succeed
Share features and benefits with staff
Establish staff training as a group
Set up SellMyTextbooks and EventsThatMatter
Establish routines for using applications
Begin to use all resources—peers and online applications

For most stores the biggest obstacle to implementing and running with these applications is staff resistance, or to state it simply—resistance to change.

First, we advise involving your primary IT person as soon as possible. Being able to post your comma separated value (CSV) files from your POS system to your web site on a regular basis is the backbone of nearly all of the applications. This can be fully automated for all of the major POS systems (MBS, PRISM, WinPRISM, Ratex and Sequoia). Ask your system provider and/or look and ask on the Support Forums for more details. Automated posting should be daily for optimal results, weekly at the very minimum.

Second, we encourage you to convene all relevant staff for group training. Several training videos are available including ICBB training videos. In ICBB Video Training list “Management” is the third bullet. Videos found here are essential to SellMyTextbooks/SellABook include:

  • User Management
  • Store Profile
  • Statistics
  • Site Integration
  • Site Text Customization
  • Sell A Book
  • Used Book Classifieds
  • Buy Back Alerts

Need Help?
Get to know and use the Support Forums. Subscribed staff to relevant topics to get help from and offer help to other stores. This is a mutual business collaboration, store-for-store, aka a network.

Critical Data & Information
Up-to-date information is the backbone of most applications every ICBA Web Network store is strongly urged to establish a weekly posting of their CSV files. After posting your CSV files, we recommend starting the SellMyTextbooks suite of buyback look ups, buyback alerts, and student-to-student used book classifieds. Then turn on Events That Matter and any of the other applications that support your store and your customers.
