Because ICBA owners are committed to cooperative success, ICBA continues to have a long history of strong programs and buyer support. Through the purchasing power of ICBA stores, ICBA has the leverage to provide advantageous pricing and programs from more than 100 ICBA supplier programs. The ICBA Programs save your store money and increase financial performance. ICBA vendors continue be valuable resources for industry and product knowledge, program development, product assortment, sourcing, merchandising, and much more. It is through mutual commitment that retail success prevails—for stores, with our vendor partners, and for our future.

Vendor Performance Survey (VPS)
ICBA maintains principles of business with the highest professional and ethical actions. We maintain a “level playing field” for vendor competition, with primary consideration given to how vendor proposals contribute directly to the stores’ success. Annually through the Vendor Performance Survey (VPS) we seek your input about vendors. The results of the Vendor Performance Survey are used by evaluation teams, composed of buyers like you, to decide which vendors you want as part of our ICBA Buying Program. In the survey, you rate vendor performance in Customer service (sales rep and corporate customer service contacts) on:

  • Fulfillment (ship on-time, ship complete)
  • Selection (product, graphics, art)
  • Execution (of graphics, production)
  • Brand Name Recognition
  • Quality (application, placement, materials, durability)
  • Other areas applicable for the year and product

Evaluation Teams
The strength of the ICBA Buying Program and evaluation process is the variety of background and experience brought by Evaluation Team members. Evaluation Teams are composed of buyers like you to be the decision makers concerning ICBA Programs.

Information collected from the Vendor Performance Surveys is used during the evaluation process to help determine the best programs for ICBA Stores. In addition, key industry vendors are invited to meet with the teams to review their proposals, address industry trends and the college market and to discuss marketing, advertising and promotional opportunities.

Throughout the evaluation process, the Evaluation Team’s guiding principle continues to be, “Is this in the best interests of the ICBA owners?” The team members support the ICBA mission, goals and objectives while working with vendors to design a program that fulfills these goals and objectives.
