Buyer & Vendor Exchange: Business Encounter, PRIMEtime & PowerHall
As a buyer, your vendor meeting schedule is set prior to your arrival and consists of 20-, 30- and 40-minute PRIMEtime meetings and PowerHall 10-minute meetings. During your private, one-to-one meetings you’re able to initiate your own agenda and explore new products, promotions and marketing opportunities. It’s also a great opportunity to negotiate and place orders for your store. Similar to buyers’ meetings, store directors and key management members experience small-group, 25-minute meetings in Business Encounter.

Informal Learning & Networking
Independent College Bookstore Association is never dull and you’ll never go hungry. Our all-inclusive format includes receptions, refreshments, meals and events. This gives you time to relax, unwind and continue to informally learn from your colleagues and peers throughout the week.

The ICBA Retail Conference consists of multi-day, hands-on learning experiences focused on improving and expanding skills in your area of expertise. Taught by experts, professionals and colleagues, curriculum covers key functional areas (such as financials, marketing and merchandising) with emphasis on critical issues affecting business now and in the future. Independent College Bookstore Association offers professional development programs for everyone.
  • STRATEGIC DIRECTION:  Strategic Direction and Business Encounter is designed for directors and key management staff. Leaders address collegiate retail channel management through collaboration and marketing. Registration fee: ICBA Member $595. Non-Member $695. Canadian CCRA Member $606. Other Canadian $708.
  • APPAREL PROGRAM:  Buyers of apparel, backpacks & gifts are immersed into two days of PRIMEtime and PowerHall vendor meetings followed by focused, professional training. Registration fees: ICBA Member FREE registration and FREE airfare (up to $500) for qualifying primary buyers while space is available. See the Easy Agreement for details. Non-Member $695. Canadian CCRA Member $606. Other Canadian $708.
  • iTECH:  State-of-the-industry training, networking and two days of vendor meetings give buyers of technology, consumer electronics & computer products new perspective and avenues to reach their departmental goals and how to fit into the new learning landscape. Registration fees: ICBA Member FREE registration and FREE airfare (up to $500) for qualifying primary buyers while space is available. See the Easy Agreement for details. Non-Member $695.   • ACADEMIC RESOURCES COURSE (ARC):  ICBA offers one of the industry's only professional development programs for buyers and managers of academic resources, "textbooks" and course materials. Professionals experience one day of vendor meetings followed by insightful educational sessions surrounding the future of their business. Registration fee: ICBA Member $595. Non-Member $695. Canadian CCRA Member $606. Other Canadian $708.
  • SUPPLY PROGRAM:  Buyers of school & office supplies follow a day of vendor meetings with two full days of skill development and retailing solutions. Arrive Monday, February 6 and depart on Friday, February 10, 2012. Registration fees: ICBA Member FREE registration and FREE airfare (up to $500) for qualifying primary buyers while space is available. See the Easy Agreement for details. Non-Member $695.   • MARKETING PROGRAM:  Marketing directors and staff partake in a variety of sessions surrounding the integrated marketing challenges. Arrive Monday, February 6 and depart on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Registration fee: ICBA Member $595. Non-Member $695. Canadian CCRA Member $606. Other Canadian $708.

Details about FREE REGISTRATION & AIRFARE for primary buyers of Apparel, Technology and Supply:
A limited number of ICBA Members are eligible to receive FREE Registration/Education & FREE airfare (up to $500) on a first come, first served basis. This Free Offer is valued at $1,095 for each primary buyer.

  • Each member store is eligible to send one primary buyer for each conference program: 1) Apparel Program, 2) iTech and 3) Supply Program. The Free Offer is limited to three buyers per member store. Registered attendee must be the primary buyer for the category in which they register.
  • Offer is good for US ICBA Member Stores only. Offer not valid for Canadian stores.
  • Reimbursement is limited to the ticketed price of airfare only. Reimbursement does not cover trip insurance, bag charges and other airline incidentals. Attendees are responsible for non-ticket incidentals and airfare beyond $500. Attendees receiving the Free Offer accept the Easy Agreement terms and conditions.

The EASY AGREEMENT: As professional buyers, this is an easy win. By accepting this offer of FREE Registration/Education and FREE Airfare, as described, you agree to the following.

  • You are the primary buyer for the category in which you registered.
  • You agree to attend ALL PRIMEtime and PowerHall meetings on your schedule.
  • If you are a no-show or miss a meeting, without a legitimate cause as determined by ICBA, you agree to reimburse ICBA for full registration and airfare in the amount of $1,095.
